The Two-Faced Demon That is Love by Jelina Georgieva

These feelings that won’t die, in my heart
from the inside, trying to break free
they just keep on tearing me apart.
Should I let them be?
I fear the unknown danger that is love,
it burns my heart and soul to ashes.
Might it be my salvation from above?
The demon fights, resists and thrashes.
Only, then I’m reborn, as a phoenix.
Recreated, like a remix.
Or could it be a mere love’s mimic?
Twisting my mind and soul into a helix.
Bitter-sweet illusions of a fresh start,
pulling me inept, into the merciless
and all-consuming depth of my heart.
